At just 21 years of age, Braxton “Brax” Baker was a social media influencer, rapper, and rising star. On November 5th, Braxton Baker’s mother, Letricia Loftin Russell, took to Instagram to share the devastating news of her passing.
What We Know:
- At this point in time, Braxton’s cause of death has not been publically released. But we do know from her mother’s Instagram statement that she was invested in multiple projects like being in the process of releasing a fashion line, writing novels, and creating more music with goals of becoming an international artist.
- “Brax” was most known for her 2017 mixtape VERSE(atility) which received thousands of listeners on Soundcloud. She then went on to create, fund, choreograph, and style her own music video for one of her most popular songs off the mixtape called “Lil B*tch”.
- An excerpt by SVGE Magazine described what made the rapper so different. “BRAX’s artistry is multifaceted: she is a rapper, singer, and trained choreographer. She styles, produces, and creative directs her viral videos and visuals, always leaving her fan base wanting more. The rapper and social media influencer is largely admired for her unique personal image and style.”
- In an Instagram photo posted by her makeup artist, Scott Osbourne Jr., he remembered the rapper by saying, “You were such an amazing light, Man the work you created, and the work we created together will live on forever!”
Braxton will forever be remembered for the art she made that showcased her positive energy and unique talent.
