As votes are counted and Americans anxiously await the winner of the presidency, Donald Trump’s campaign has started sending emails asking for money to protect his incumbency from the “left-wing mob”.
What We Know:
- The Trump campaign started to send out aggressive fundraising emails on November 4th, the same day that he was preparing to announce premature victory.
- The emails criticize the Democrats for stealing the election with mail-in ballots that are, “leading to chaos like you’ve never seen”. The ending line of the email asks for his supporters to “fight back” in emboldened, capitalized text.

- Many are criticizing the choice of words as a form of inciting violence. There is already heightened fear of post election retaliation to the extent of businesses boarding their windows and the national guard being activated.
- This entire email lead into him asking for donations so they he could sue various states and stop the counting of votes. Donald Trump’s Campaign proceeded to use donations to sue three states, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia that demand more access for observers in the counting process. The campaign also made a federal court lawsuit against New Jersey for voter fraud.
Because of Donald Trump’s reluctancy to accept counts, this election is likely to include a lengthy legal battle.
