A new series being produced by Shonda Rhimes has finally released the trailer to the public. This is her first move after making a deal with Netflix.
What We Know:
- The show, Bridgerton, is based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling series of novels. The creator will be Chris Van Dusen who worked on popular shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal. Popular shows included in Shondaland are How to Get Away with Murder, Private Practice, and Off the Map. He created the show series and his executive producers are Rhimes and Betsy Beers according to Variety.
- Directors for this season will include Julie Ann Robinson, Sheree Folkson, Tom Verica, and Alrick Riley.
- According to Hypable, the series centers on Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family, as she makes her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. If you’re into a bit of romance mixed with some scandals, this show may cause you to take some interest in it.
- The first season is capped at eight episodes which are each an hour-long. The show is voiced and narrated by Julie Andrews.
- Some of the stars who are in this show include Jonathan Bailey, Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Adjoa Andoh, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, and many more.
- Before moving to Netflix, Shonda Rhimes was with ABC. She decided to step away from ABC because of an altercation with Disneyland Tickets and the company’s response to the problem. According to theGrio, Rhimes can now confidently say that “On behalf of women everywhere, I will brag. I am the highest-paid showrunner in television.”
