Cardi B and Candace Owens clashed on social media over the weekend, when the 27-year-old rapper fought back at the 31-year-old opinionated critic about a video in which Owens called Cardi’s latest meeting with presidential candidate Joe Biden an “insult” to Black people.
What We Know:
- This all began on Sunday when Owens tweeted a video of herself on The Ben Shapiro Show. She blamed both Biden and Bernie Sanders of gratifying Black people by conducting interviews with Cardi. Owens repeatedly called Cardi “illiterate”.
- Owens went on a rant stating that the interview was demeaning, pandering, and ridiculous. She also said Cardi B’s questions were silly, that she had no idea what she was doing, and both Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden took the time to speak with her because they believe Black people are “stupid”.
- She also stated, “There are way more intellectual Black Democrats you could’ve chosen to sit down with, but you chose an illiterate rapper because that’s what she is, she’s illiterate.”
- Cardi B fired back. She tweeted:
“Yes, you are right. I have the number 1 song & I have a huge platform, and I can make millions go vote to get the MAN THAT USED YOU. I don’t want to argue with you, Candace. I really don’t have the time. I honestly just feel sorry for you, and you are encouraging millions to vote for a man who laughs every time a black man gets killed by a cop and tell millions of Americans to drink bleach,” she mentioned. “Trump didn’t even have you talking at the Republican convention. He thinks you’re dumb. MAGA, did you dirty, but you mad at me?”
- Although the feud continued on Instagram Live when Cardi mentioned she is heard all around and can encourage millions of people to vote, Owens said that Cardi B was still tweeting about her and that she broke Cardi B.
