The professional athlete turned Hollywood leading man shared the news on Wednesday.
What We Know:
- Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to Instagram to make the announcement that he, along with his wife Lauren Hashian and their daughters Jasmine and Tiana had all tested positive for COVID-19.
- He and the family contracted the virus after spending time with some family friends. The Rock said that even though they had all come down with the virus, their daughters experienced nothing more than a “little sore throat”. He spoke about how the family fought the virus for three weeks, and how they are recommitting to boosting their immune systems to stay healthy throughout this pandemic.
“I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family, and for me, too, personally as well.”
- There is some hope on the horizon when it comes to the U.S. fighting the virus. Though a vaccine for COVID-19 is not yet complete, the CDC is encouraging states to be prepared for a November 1st rollout.
- Since March, more than 6 million Americans have tested positive and over 187,000 people have lost their lives to the virus. As the amount of U.S. cases continues to grow, the CDC is concerned that numbers could spike over the coming Labor Day Weekend.
The CDC is still advocating to maintain social distancing and mask wearing to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
