Garcelle Beauvais to Join ‘The Real’

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Garcelle Beauvais, has recently been included to star as a co-host for the popular daytime talk show, The Real. She announced the news on social media Monday that she will be joining Adrienne Houghton, comedian Loni Love, and television personality Jeannie Mai.

What We Know:

  • Beauvais first shared the news on an exclusive statement for Variety. She stated she was absolutely “thrilled to be joining the dynamic, bold, and diverse women on the award-winning talk show The Real”.
  • She posted an ecstatic quote to Instagram on Monday saying, “I am beyond beyond excited to share this news that I am the new cohost of @therealdaytime”. She also expressed her love for pop culture and wrote that she can’t wait to share a table with her co-hosts.

  • Beauvais is an American actress and former model, born in Haiti, which has had her fair share of projects on and off the big screen. Her most notable roles were in the 1988 film Coming to America, the 1999 film Wild Wild West, and The Jamie Foxx Show, which aired from 1996 to 2001.
  • The addition of Beauvais to the lineup follows the departure of the now-former host, Tamera Mowry-Housley, last month and another couple months after Amanda Seales leaving due to her own discontent with the show.
  • Mowry-Housley leaving was in light of seeking “new opportunities” and pursuing what’s in store for the next chapter in her life. Much of that was attributed to spending more time with her husband Adam Housley and two children: Aden and Ariah.
  • Around the time of her departure in mid-July, she posted a statement on Instagram explaining she had no “intention” of sharing the news so soon considering the news surrounding her friend Naya Rivera at the time. Given reports were coming out anyway, she decided to speak directly to followers.

Unlike some of the other previous hosts, Mowry-Housley was part original lineup of The Real when the show first started in 2013 alongside Houghton, Love, Mai, and Tamar Braxton. The Real has gone on to win several awards such as NAACP Image awards and an Emmy in 2018.
