The Disappearance of ‘Gold Rush’ Producer Continues To Be Shrouded In Mystery

Gold-Rush, discovery’s famous show franchise TV producer, Terrence Woods, disappeared as he was filming in Idaho on October 5th, 2018. Despite a primary investigation and hunt, there is still no trail of him after nearly two years.

What We Know:

  • Terrence Woods, a Maryland citizen who was 27 at the time of his disappearance, had been chosen by Raw TV to work as a production associate on Gold Rush: Dave Turin’s Lost Mine, a spin-off of the famous Gold Rush series produced by its origin company Discovery.
  • The filming took place in the Penman mines in Idaho County, a deserted gold mine on rough cliffs and terrains. According to witnesses, associate producer Simon Gee, and a local woman described how Woods was last seen tossing down his headset, running down a cliff near the mines and into the forest.
  • The Sheriff’s Office in Idaho County conveyed a week-long search for Woods in the neighboring area, deciding that the road at the base of the cliff had been reached. This is the area where the search dogs lost his scent.
  • Before working with Raw, Woods established his profession in the United Kingdom. While there, Woods would work on shows for BBC, including ITV’s The Voice UK and Saving Africa’s Elephants: Hugh and the Ivory War.
  • Valerie and Terrence Woods Sr. were brought in from Maryland to Idaho, but they were skeptical of their son’s disappearance circumstances.
  • Woods, Sr. stated, “You say my 97-pound son ran down the cliff without tripping, falling, hurting himself”. He continued saying, “there is no sign or no one has a trace of his blood or a piece of his clothing, and he ran like a hare and ran so fast that nobody could catch him.”
  • Woods previously texted his father during the morning of October 5th to say he was cutting the production early, leaving his time short by a few weeks but didn’t explain any motive.
  • As stated by the 911 call log, his mental status was called into question. “Terrence has been having a tough time emotionally and had a mental breakdown earlier today,” the log read.
  • Woods Sr. said that it makes no sense when he hears people saying that his son battled with his “mental health” or that he “didn’t live up to expectations”—emphasizing that his son had no mental problem, no health problem, no communication problem.

It’s very crucial to know that at the center of a twisted mystery linked to Discovery Channel’s highest-rated show of all time, there are devastated parents extremely desperate trying to find their son.
