The former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, called Black Lives Matter a “domestic terrorist group” during an interview with Fox News.

- In an interview with Fox News, Rudy Giuliani called Black Lives Matter a “domestic terrorist group,” because two “big shots” in the Weather Underground, a radical left-wing militant organization that was classified as a domestic terrorist group in 1975 by the FBI, are a part of Black Lives Matter.
- He specifically brought up Susan Rosenburg, one of the “big shots” who was commuted from her 58-year prison sentence in 2001 by Bill Clinton. Rosenberg acts as the vice-chair on the board of directors for the non-profit organization Thousand Currents, which sponsors, funds, and works alongside many organizations, including the Black Lives Matter Global Network.
- Giuliani brought up false statements about Black Lives Matter and its intentions. “Just go read the two or three backup documents for Black Lives Matter,” he said. “Black people get salaries for the rest of their lives, nobody else. It’s a very very strange society they want to set up.”
- But, on The Movement for Black Lives (M4BL) official site, it has a list of demands that do not prove Giuliani’s statement true. On the website, M4BL lists reparations for what Blacks in America lost because of racism, slavery, food apartheid, and housing discrimination.
- Giuliani also said that Black Lives Matter “hasn’t said a word” about the “terrible violence that has taken place,” referring to the rioting and looting. But in the online mission statements, the organization clearly stated that it stands against “state-sanctioned violence and anti-Black racism”.
Towards the end of the interview, Giuliani stated, “These are killers, and these are people who hate white people. They’re people who hate white men in particular. And they want to do away with a mother-father family.”
