I watched the video with everyone announcing & I’m tearing up. Like that was all the representation we had on tv so every last 1 of those shows is important. All of those actors, actresses, directors, producers are important. All the feels! https://t.co/vK4jGWcYlG

Netflix began its Strong Black Lead branch in 2018 and featured a promo image and video to promote the movement during the BET Awards. In a Los Angeles Times interview, Maya Watson Banks, Netflix’s director of brand and editorial, described the movement as “relatable and real, always unapologetically black, and assumes context and knowledge so that content doesn’t need to be watered down.”
If you are not already following them, you can keep up with the Strong Black Lead movement via their Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook accounts. There’s even a dedicated genre on the streaming platform.
We’re sure you join us in excitement and anticipation for each of the above dates. Are you going to wait and binge all at once or binge as they’re released?!
