Tamera Mowry announced Monday afternoon that she will be leaving the daytime talk show, The Real after seven years.
What We Know:
- Mowry is one of the original hosts of the show since it aired in 2013. She posted a statement on Instagram regarding her departure from the show. She says, “For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships that I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve had the blessing to interview have changed my life for the better. I’m so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy.”
- Telepictures producers of the The Real confirmed Mowry’s departure. They made a statement that read, “We fully support Tamera’s decision to spend more time with her family, even if that means she’s not one of our hosts on The Real. She will always be part of The Real family. We look forward to developing future projects with her and welcoming her back as a regular guest on the show.”
- Mowry’s departure from the show comes just a month after her co-host Amanda Seales left the show last month. Seales made the announcement that she was leaving the show on June 3 after only being with the show for six months. Seales left the show because she didn’t feel she could “speak to her people the way they need to be spoken to.”
- Mowry has not announced what the next chapter of her life will look like. She is a mother of two and is married to her husband, Adam Housley. Together they have a YouTube series, The Housley Life where fans can get access to her personal life. She reveals skincare routines, talks about falling in love with her husband and lets her children have their way filming Q&A videos.
Adrienne Houghton, Jeannie Mai and Loni Love still remains the original co-hosts on the show. Tamar Braxton, who was also an original co-host left the show in 2016.
