B. Simone Addresses Plagiarism Allegations

Comedian and Entrepreneur, B. Simone, has been constantly under fire for being in the midst of controversial topics. Now, Simone has to explain why her book, Baby Girl: Manifest In The Life You Want, is alleged to have been plagiarized.

What We Know:

  • In an Instagram post, Simone claims that the portions of her book that were plagiarized were done by an outsourced company that she trusted with her vision.
  • “Y’all know me. I have been vulnerable, transparent, honest about my whole career,” she said in a video. She further explains that she wanted to make a video in order to address accusations regarding her book. She did offer a disclaimer that it is a now a legal matter in which she is limited to speak on.
  • Simone stated that she had a vision to create a book for young women to help them manifest, which is what she did to become successful. “Me and my team outsourced. We hired a team that we trusted. That we thought could bring my vision to life and they did a lot of things without my knowledge,” she said.
  • She admits that she takes full responsibility regardless of being unaware of the plagiarism. She also professed to have reached out to every content creator that was disadvantaged in the process. “Even though this was not intentional, I am still so very sorry to the content creators and I understand their frustration 100 percent,” she said.
  • Simone started making headlines after content creators exposed their work that was featured in her book without their consent.

Simone also recently received criticism for exclaiming that she would not date men who has a 9-5 job during an interview on Nick Cannon’s radio show. She said that there was nothing wrong with having a job that requires you to clock in and out, but she prefers to date other entrepreneurs.
