- Waters was a talented writer who began her career with Vibe as a hip-hop writer. Eventually, her hard work paid off and success came her way when her talents landed her to write for What Women Want, a film led by Taraji P. Henson, the second season of This is Us, Hood Adjacent With James Davis, Kidding, and The Breaks.
- She was passionate about her work and even shared in an interview with Shadow and Act about how she became a screenwriter.
- “From the moment I got here, the rules didn’t apply to me,” she said. “If the basic rules of raising a kid didn’t apply to me, then nothing else really applies to me. So I just had to figure it out. There were several times in my life that I found to be very confining. But as I look back on it, it was very freeing.”
