Fedex Driver Sanitizes Package For Girl Suffering With An Autoimmune Disorder

To protect her daughter from contact Carrie Blasi had placed a sign on her door urging delivery carriers to “please leave packages/deliveries on the doorstep”.

  • The message also said, “Someone in this house has an autoimmune disorder…Those who are immunocompromised are more likely to contract coronavirus (COVID-19) and experience life-threatening complications.”
  • According to the security camera footage posted to Blasi’s YouTube page, a kindhearted employee arrived at the family’s Boca Raton residence with their package and spots the sign. He then returns with paper towels filled with disinfectant and wipes down the box. after he was done he placed a note on the package that read, “I sanitized [your] box once I’ve seen the note on door. Stay safe.”
  • On Monday, Blasi told PEOPLE that they were able to reunite with the compassionate driver who she described as “a good-natured man”. She told the magazine how the reunion happened, “one of the FedEx delivery guy’s friends found me on Facebook, and we were able to connect with them via video conference.”
  • Blasi said the reason why the man was empathetic to her daughter was because his daughter is also vulnerable to the illness. She said, “she was born premature — [and] fit in his hand!”

Blasi explained the reason why she shared the sweet moment is because she wanted to “encourage others to be kind and helpful, especially during this time”.
