According to TMZ Sports, the quarterback planned to reach out to the Jets. It was reported that Colin Kaepernick was a great fit for New York although it’s unknown if there is any mutual interest.
What We Know:
- His girlfriend TV and radio host Nessa shared her thoughts on Twitter.
They should sign @Kaepernick7 . Any team that actually wants to win should sign Colin. He still continues to train & as you all saw @ his workout, HE’S BEEN READY W HIS “ELITE ARM STRENGTH”, as an @NFL scout said. Team Owners/ NFL can stop blackballing him @ anytime. #imwithkap

- The 32-year-old former quarterback has been out of the league since the end of the 2016 season when he made headlines for kneeling during the national anthem as a protest against racial injustice and police violence.
- Kaepernick was originally scheduled to work out for teams during the 2019 season but, because of a dispute with the league, it was prevented from happening. So instead he held a workout of his own but attendance was scarce and it seemingly ended any chance of him returning to the NFL.
- Commissioner Roger Goodell told Jason Reid from The Undefeated that it was an incredible opportunity and “and he chose not to take it…I understand that. And we have moved on.”
After all of his misfortunes, Kaepernick’s interest in the Jets showed that he has not given up on playing for an NFL team. Let’s hope that Kaepernick finds a team and makes his way back to the NFL.
