Rihanna did her part during the coronavirus pandemic and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is grateful for her donation of personal protective equipment to New York’s hospitals.
What We Know:
- Cuomo tweeted to praise the pop star for her act of generosity on behalf of the state.
- “I want to thank @rihanna and the Rihanna Foundation for donating Personal Protective Equipment to New York State. We’re so appreciative of your help and that of so many others who have stepped up,” Gov. Cuomo wrote in his thread.
- This isn’t the Barbados-born superstar’s only major coronavirus-related donation. She already donated $5 million through her Clara Lionel Foundation on Monday to various organizations on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S., the Caribbean, and Africa.
- Rihanna contributed commonly requested items by statewide hospitals to combat COVID-19 includeing N95 masks, safety goggles, gloves, sanitation wipes and full-length gowns.
The pop star joins a host of other celebrities such as Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Angelina Jolie who have given towards the COVID-19 relief.
