Meghan Markle Drops Title After Exit from Royal Family

According to People, the charity that released a capsule collection last year to help women find employment has now replaced Meghan Markle’s former title “Our Royal Patron,” with “Our Patron, The Duchess of Sussex.”

What We Know:

  • In February, Markle and her husband Harry made an agreement with Buckingham Palace to exit from their royal duties and leave behind their royal titles. This decision caused an uproar and caused Harry to criticize the British media and their heinous attacks against Markle and their son Archie.
  • A spokesperson opened up about the couple’s decision saying, “While The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organization, given the specific U.K. government rules surrounding the use of the word ‘Royal,’ it has been therefore agreed that their non-profit organization when it is announced this Spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation”.
  • According to PEOPLE, prior to Smart Works changing Markle’s title on their website, Harry asked the media to simply refer to him as Harry when he participated in Travalyst Summit in Scotland.
  • As the couple transitions from their royal titles, their Sussex Royal website and Instagram pages remain active.

It has been speculated that there is inner turmoil among members of the royal family after Markle and Harry’s exit. Many said that the Queen still loves the couple very much.
