The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has caused many school districts to mandate distance learning. Raven “The Science Maven” Baxter is offering free group sessions and discounted private virtual academic coaching and science tutoring services to students who need a little extra help.
Donating an hour of her time every day until students return to school from 1-2pm Eastern Time, Raven aims to help students in need who may have Chemistry or Biology related questions. Her live help sessions will be streamed on her YouTube and Facebook pages. For details on her more extensive private learning sessions, visit her Science Maven website.
Raven is a college science professor, molecular scientist and doctoral researcher who is working to study and challenge the current state of science culture and create spaces that are not only entertaining but also encouraging, educational, and real.
Raven is the Founder and Executive Director of Science Maven, Inc, an organization created to empower and inspire underrepresented students in STEM. She is also the host of the live science talk show, STEMbassy, featured on Facebook and YouTube.
