Kelis Announces New Cannabis Cooking Show on Netflix

Well known artist Kelis, has announced the launch of her new cooking competition show on Netflix Cooked With Cannabis.

What We Know:

• Cooked With Cannabis is an six-episode series that will be co-hosted by the singer and Chef Leather Storrs.
• Each episode features three professionals chefs and their task is to create a three-course cannabis-infused meal for a prize of $10,000.
• The first season features a rotating cast of dinner guests, including guest stars Ricki Lake, Too $hort, and EL-P.
• Kelis stated on her Instagram post: “As a chef, I was intrigued by the food and as an everyday person, I was interested in how powerful this topic is in today’s society. In this country, many things have been used systematically to oppress groups of people, but this is so culturally important for us to learn and grow together.”
• The show is expected to be released on 4/20.

In addition to her success of the new show launch, last month Kelis announced the 20th anniversary reissue of her debut album Kaleidoscope.

I’m really excited to announce my new show, Cooked with Cannabis on @Netflix!! Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love my Netflix, so this is a dream come true. Interestingly, this was one of those things that I didn’t go looking for, it kind of came to me. As a chef, I was intrigued by the food and as an everyday person, I was interested in how powerful this topic is in today’s society. In this country, many things have been used systematically to oppress groups of people, but this is so culturally important for us to learn and grow together.
