A new game begins. Introducing #spiral: From The Book Of Saw – In theaters May 15.
What We Know:
- Bousman also directed three of the most successful Saw films to date.
- According to Complex, although the plot is still under wraps one thing that is known is that Chris Rock will play a detective named Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks that is investigating gruesome murders and finds himself in the middle of Jigsaw’s morbid game while Samuel L. Jackson will play his father.
- When introduced with this project, Rock came up with what he thought would be a great addition to the franchise. Lionsgate’s Joe Drake said to Variety, “Saw is one of the highest-grossing horror franchises of all-time and it’s one of Lionsgate’s most successful film series. This upcoming film will still be as mind-bending and intense as all the previous Saw films. Chris conceived this idea and it will be completely reverential to the legacy of the material while reinvigorating the brand with his wit, creative vision, and passion for this classic horror franchise.”
- When asked about the project, Rock added that he was a fan of the film when it first came out in 2004. He is excited to be given the opportunity to make it his own and “take this to a really intense and twisted new place”.
- Jigsaw was the last entry of the series which came out in October 2017.
