Richard Appiah Akoto is preparing his students to face a challenging task. The students must pass a national exam that includes questions on information and communication technology (ICT).
What We Know:
- In brief, the Ghanian teacher must prepare students to take a national exam; but, the challenge is, the school hasn’t had a computer since 2011.
- Many are impressed by Akoto’s perseverance and determination to teach his students the scope of the Microsoft applications; especially, since the determined-teacher eloquently does it on a blackboard.
- According to a report from CNN, Akoto said, “I wanted them to know or see how the windows will appear if they were to be behind the computer.” He added, “Always wanted them to have interest in the subject, so I always do my possible best for them.”
- Also, the teacher included, “I have been doing this every time the lesson I’m teaching demands it. I’ve drawn monitors, system units, keyboards, mouse, formatting toolbar, drawing toolbar, save as a dialog box and so on.”
- Twitter and Facebook users urged Microsoft Africa to help provide the school the proper equipment for the students to utilize. Furthermore, in providing these necessary technologies, it allows Akoto to effectively teach his students.
We are immensely impressed by Akoto’s devotion to his students’ education, and his ability to complete the task all on a blackboard.
