Prince Harry has shared his thoughts, feelings, and reasoning behind the royal family’s exit.

- Just one week ago Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry shared the unexpected news of their decision to walk away from their royal duties, which seems to have caused quite an uproar. The couple expressed that it was important for them “to work to become financially independent”. However, Prince Harry also expressed that he would continuously support his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Although many people believe Meghan Markle is the reason behind their exit, Prince Harry has denounced those rumors by clarifying that this decision was his own.
- “The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back is not one I made lightly,” Harry said is his statement. He continued on by stating, “There were no other options.” Prince Harry also denounced the idea that he is walking away forever. He wants to share his time between the United Kingdom and North America and feels as though the United Kingdom will always be his home.
- “Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the Commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible,” Prince Harry stated. Although, Prince Harry seemed emotional during his speech he also included a bit of humor to keep the crowd at ease.
