  • The Recording Academy will be featuring Grammy-Winning artists such as Beck, Common, Gary Clark Jr., Earth, Wind & Fire, Foo Fighters, H.E.R., Juanes, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Mavis Staples, St. Vincent, and Usher.
  • President/CEO of the Recording Academy, Deborah Dugan said, “Prince. The Purple One. His Royal Badness-regardless of how you identify him, he is indisputably one of the greatest musical virtuosos of all time.”
  • According to People, Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich said, “The idea for the tribute show, which will span Prince’s entire career, has been floated for years, but until now, the concept seemed too daunting to pull off.
  • Sheila E., who will serve as a musical director for the show, told Rolling Stone that she is “honored” to pay tribute to Prince, who died in 2016 at the age of 57.

Taping will be broadcast later in 2020 on CBS at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Since Prince’s untimely passing, several artist have paid tribute to the “Purple Rain” singer.
