  • The Detroit native released her debut album in 2013 but didn’t get recognized until hits like “Truth Hurts,” “Juice,” and “Good As Hell” were rereleased years later.”
  • According to Time’s writer Samantha Irby, going to a Lizzo’s concert is like going to worship. “Attending a Lizzo concert feels like worshipping at the church of self-love, if your preacher was a pop star living joyfully in a big black body, delivering a sermon of self-acceptance that’s as frank as it is accessible.”
  • This has been a big year for the 31-year-old singer, and it only seems to be getting better. She is the most nominated artist for the 2020 Grammy Awards with eight nominations.
Her hit song “Truth Hurts” is nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. She is also nominated for Album of the Year and Best New Artist.
