UPS Employee Steals $1K Worth Of Holiday Packages

An 18-year-old United Postal Services employee is facing felony charges of grand theft for stealing packages he was trusted with delivering this holiday season.

What We Know:

  • Emmanuel Reggin was hired as a seasonal UPS employee and his job included helping the full-time driver unload packages at various locations.
  • Police say surveillance video shows Reggin hiding packages in and under dumpsters when his co-worker wasn’t looking. Then, after clocking out he would come back to come back to collect the packages, taking high-dollar merchandise like tablets and PlayStation 4s.
  • “You’re 18 and you got a chance to work and then you go and allegedly do something pretty stupid stealing the packages,” the judge said to Reggin. He went on to say, “I don’t know if that’s the path in life you want to take, but I would think not. I would think you would want to get a job, stay out of trouble and have a nice life. Good luck to you sir.”
  • UPS told reporters “UPS is working with law enforcement and the person in question is no longer employed by the company”.

Reggin is being held on a $10,000 bond and if convicted, he can spend up to five years in prison.
