Will.i.am called Qantas flight attendant racist, airline will back her if she sues him

Musician and producer Will.i.am, called out the Qantas Airways and their “racist flight attendant” on Twitter after an unpleasant flight over the weekend.

What We Know:

  • In a plethora of tweets, Will.i.am tweeted about being approached by police officers in the Qantas airport because of a #RacistFlightAttendant. He alleges that because of her behavior he was intimidated by “five police officers” and described the Marshall to be “rude” and “out of control,” but the Airways is negating the musician’s claims. The airline is preparing to support the flight attendant if she decides to sue him.
  • The “FIYAH” singer, posted a picture of a police officer and tweeted,This is how your greeted when you land from Brisbane to Sydney flying @qantas  with a #RacistFlightAttendant named Lorraine Marshall…She sent the police after me bacause I couldn’t hear the P.A. while making beats on the plane wearing noise canceling headphones…”
  • According to the Washington Post, the Qantas Airways said “we rejected claims of racism and have since asked Will.i.am for a retraction of that claim. “We fully support our crew and the great work they do ensuring safety of all those on board. Absent a retraction, and if the crew member wanted to take the matter further, we’d certainly be willing to provide legal support for them to do this.”
  • The Black Eyed Peas musician has since been involved in back and forth commentary with online users. Some of the users on Twitter have been in support of his claims and others are accusing him of being upset because the flight attendant was “just doing her job”.

Since the incident occurred, Will.i.am has not retracted his sentiments on his experience with the Australian airline.
