Judge denies bond for roommate accused of killing Clark Atlanta student

A Clark Atlanta University student, Jordyn Jones, accused of killing her roommate was denied bond in a Fulton County court on Thursday.

What We Know:

  • Clark Atlanta University student Alexis Crawford was strangled to death and smothered with a plastic bag before her remains were placed in a plastic bin and dumped in a park, according to Fulton County Superior Court documents.
  • When Crawford was allegedly assaulted by her roommate’s boyfriend, Crawford contacted Atlanta police. She didn’t know exactly what had happened, according to a police report, but she was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. That was Oct. 26. Less than a week later, Crawford was dead.
  • Two suspects have been charged with the murder of Alexis Janae Crawford, 21.  Jordyn Jones, Crawford’s roommate, and Jones’ boyfriend Barron Brantley are in custody.
  • A judge said Jordyn Jones is not a good candidate for bond because she is a flight risk and has already tried to contact witnesses in the case, WSB-Atlanta News reported.
