Multiple NFL teams now have the opportunity to sign activist and ex-football player Colin Kaepernick.
What We Know:
- The NFL has announced it will hold a private workout with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, 32, at an undisclosed location in Atlanta on Saturday, November 16, 2019. All 32 NFL teams have been invited to attend or send emissaries to view the workout.
- Kaepernick has repeatedly maintained that he’s football ready and even posted a video on Twitter prior to this season that claimed he has been working out five days a week for the last three years.

- The Steelers, Broncos, Lions, and Panthers are among the teams that have had significant injuries to their starting quarterbacks. The Bengals and Titans have benched their starters and could also be in the market for a quarterback. The Dolphins, Lions, Broncos, Falcons, and Buccaneers coaches all said they expect a team representative to be at the workout.
- NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that “Several clubs inquired as to Kaepernick’s football readiness and both him and his reps have frequently expressed his desire for him to return to the league. The NFL has arranged this opportunity for him to work out, and for all clubs to have the opportunity to evaluate him.”
Kaepernick hasn’t played since the 2016 season. In 69 career games, he has thrown for 12,271 yards, 72 touchdowns, and 30 interceptions.
