A$AP Rocky is headed back to Sweden, just four months after getting released from his detainment there.
What We Know:
- A$AP Rocky was taken into custody on July 2, 2019, after he was arrested in Stockholm following a street altercation. He spent nearly a month in jail and was released from detention on August 2, 2019, on the final day of his high-profile trial.
- Following the incident, The Stockholm District Court convicted him along with two members of his entourage with assault charges. They have been given suspended sentences and ordered to pay damages to the victim.
- Many celebrities, including Tyga, advocated for the release of the star. However, some people believed the event was karma for the star’s previous comments when discussing police brutality and his role in the concept of celebrity influence back in 2016. Now the rapper will be returning to Sweden to perform at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm on December 11, 2019. A poster for the show has debuted with the words “he’s back”.
- The record label Live Nation released a statement saying, “After an outcry of support from his Swedish fans, he will return to Stockholm to deliver a triumphant show for all his supporters.” The label also says the proceeds from the show will be donated to the Swedish Network of Refugee Support Groups.
Tickets for the show will go on sale November 12, 2019.
