A suburban home was destroyed when a Cessna 414 airplane crashed into it, killing the pilot.
What We Know:
- The plane was on course for Linden, New Jersey and took off in Virginia.
- The crash took place at 11 a.m. in Colonia in Middlesex County. According to ABC, the plane crashed into one home and created a fire which spread to the adjacent homes.
- There was no one in the initial house that the plane hit. There was a woman in one of the adjacent houses that caught fire. Luckily, she escaped uninjured.
- A neighbor reported that they heard a loud bang which sounded like the plane engine sputtering. “I just can’t believe that this would happen on a street like this, I went running down. I don’t know what I thought I was gonna do. Anybody who was home would not have had a chance.”
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the crash.
