The Davidson County Medical Examiner’s confirmed the date of his death and a representative for TobyMac also confirmed the death to NBC News.
What We Know:
- According to The Tennessean, Truett Foster McKeehan was the eldest of TobyMac’s five children. He was also an aspiring musician. He released music under different names which included Truett Foster, truDog, TRU, and Shiloh.
- TobyMac hasn’t released a statement about his son’s death but talked about their relationship in the past while promoting his album The Elements.
- Last October, the rapper promoted the song “Scars” which was written about his son. “‘Scars’ is deeply personal and for me, it is about my son,” he said. “He left home and he is doing his own thing now. Watching people you love go through hard things is tough, and I want people to know that they are not alone.”
- The song lyrics included, “Life ain’t got no sequel, we all broken people. The only road to found is lost.”
McKeehan’s cause of death is unknown. Sending love and condolences to TobyMac and his family.
