In the interview airing Sunday on TV One, Lamar Odom talked about his relationship and his admiration for actress Taraji P Henson.
What We Know:
- Odom said although Henson was older he learned a lot from the relationship. “She was a little older than me, but I learned a lot from her because that was the most significant relationship as a grown-up that I had with a black woman,” Odom said. “I used to carry her picture on the road with me.”
- He credits Henson as being an inspiration to him and blamed the breakup on his immaturity and his inability to commit to Henson. “Things ended with Taraji because of me being an immature punk,” Odom continued. “I didn’t know how to tell her I was falling in love with another woman named Khloé Kardashian.”
- Odom and Kardashian’s love story took the media by storm when the couple married a month after meeting each other in 2009. The couple broke things off in 2013. In his book Darkness to Light, Odom admits he wasn’t the best husband to the reality TV star. “I had broken my vows with Khloé so many times it’s just impossible for me to remember them all. I don’t know why Khloé stayed with me.”
- In the book, he also mentions how he also threatened to kill Kardashian while high on cocaine and ecstasy.
