Rapper, Actor, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, will return to his Alma Mater Georgia State as an Artist-In-Residence.
What We Know:
- Ludacris attended Georgia State University before his rap career took off, and now he has returned to share his knowledge with the students. AJC reports that Bridges “will mentor students and work with professors in its Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) on entrepreneurship in the music and film industries”.
- “Georgia State is one of the most innovative and diverse universities in the country,” advised Ludacris in a statement. “I couldn’t imagine a better place to work with students than CMII.”
- The Creative Media Industries Institute was founded in 2014, and is designed to help students focus on advanced technology workforce training, building a national model for media entrepreneurship and collaborating with media and arts industry partners.
- The collaboration with the rapper and the university was announced this past July. There will also be a class titled the “Legal Life of Ludacris” that will be taught to law students at the university. His main role would be to teach the students the importance of “contract negotiations, intellectual properties, and fair and equal pay for music clients,” stated GSU.
