Lori Harvey, the stepdaughter of Steve Harvey, was arrested last night after being involved in a hit and run car accident.
What we know:
- The Beverly Hills Police Department reports that Lori was involved in a traffic accident that caused her Mercedes SUV to flip over and be suspended onto its side. Hours before she was spotted leaving dinner with a female friend at Nobu in Malibu.
- An eyewitness on the scene claims Lori was texting while she was driving and crashed her car into a parked vehicle. Lori was not harmed in the accident and the driver that Lori crashed into was even nice enough to pull her out of her car.
- Lori allegedly attempted to flee after being helped but did not get far. She was not taken into custody and booked, but rather issued a misdemeanor citation at the scene and released. She was arrested based on the misdemeanors of hit-and-run and prolonging or delaying a police investigation.
- The Beverly Hills Police Department released this statement: “She was arrested for the two charges and released on scene. Not booked. She identified herself properly and signed a written promise to appear in court.”
Thankfully both parties involved were not injured. Never forget: it can wait! A text is not worth your life.
