Yonkers, New York native/rapper DMX has admitted himself into rehab.
What We Know:
- The world found out about Earl Simmons aka DMX admitting himself into rehab on Saturday, October 12 via a post on his Instagram account. This news comes as a surprise after XXL reported last month that he had signed a new deal with Def Jam Records and was just starting his tour.
- Many of his colleagues and friends commented their support of the “Who We Be” rapper’s decision, including rappers like Casanova, Scarface, and hip-hop mogul/record label executive, Russell Simmons. “Love you and always will keep your head up,” commented Simmons on the Instagram post.
- It’s no secret that DMX has struggled with substance abuse over the years. In 2000, he served a fifteen-day sentence for being in possession of marijuana and then the following year, he was sentenced for driving without a license along with marijuana possession.
- This will be DMX’s third time in rehab, after entering once in 2002 and again in 2018. He was released from prison in January after serving time for tax evasion.
Sending prayers to the Simmons family, as well as, to DMX. We wish the rapper a speedy and healthy recovery while in rehab.
