Ellen Defends Bush After Attacks Of Them Sitting At A Football Game

George Bush praised Ellen for her defending of attacks from the Twitter mob that shamed her for watching a football game with the former president, according to Fox News.

What We Know:

  • Ellen and Bush sat together during the Dallas Cowboys-Green Bay Packers game on Sunday. Pictures taking during the event led Ellen to have to defend her “friend”. The Twitter mob began attacking Ellen.

  • Ellen went on to talk about it on her show and in an interview. “When we were invited, I was aware that I was going to be surrounded with people from very different views and beliefs. And I’m not talking about politics… I was rooting for the Packers.”

  • She ended her speech with “…I’m friends with George Bush. In fact, I’m friends with a lot of people who don’t share the same beliefs that I have. We’re all different and I think that we’ve forgotten that that’s okay that we’re all different… but just because I don’t agree with someone on everything doesn’t mean that I’m not going to be friends with them.”

Bush went on to say that he appreciated the comments and deeply respected Ellen.
