South Carolina Postal Worker 64-year-old Irene Pressley Shot and Killed on Her Delivery Route

US Postal Worker Irene Pressley was shot and killed during her route in the rural area of South Carolina on September 23.

What We Know:

  • Pressley was allegedly shot multiple times by 22-year-old Trevor Seward. According to the arrest warrant obtained for Seward, several shell casings were found at the scene along with Seward’s fingerprints on a package, reports CNN.
  • According to ABCNews4, Pressley “was found dead inside her vehicle along her mail route on Morrisville Road north of Andrews that afternoon”. She worked as a postal worker for 22 years for the post office in Andrews, South Carolina, says David McGinnis, the US Postal Service’s Charlotte Division inspector. Andrews is 50 miles northeast of Charleston.
  • Seward was arrested on Saturday, September 28, and charged with Pressley’s murder. He is currently being held behind bars without bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on November 15. Pressley was also laid to rest on Saturday and the investigation into her murder is still ongoing.
