A young mother was arrested Saturday, and charged with manslaughter, after her two sons drowned in an apartment complex pool.
What We Know:
- Branario Minto, 5, and Ja’Kye Joesph, 6, drowned May 22 , as surveillance footage shows the two children running towards the pool area after 7 p.m., without supervision, reports Fox News.
- Wildline Joesph, 23, and her boyfriend John Lynn, 24, were both charged with manslaughter in the death of the boys. Sergeant Don Prichard says “detectives said Joseph failed to provide proper care and supervision for the brothers, which makes her responsible for their deaths.”
- An apology from the Florida mom ensued as she stated “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. They’re only 5, and they’re only 6. I lost my babies too early. Branario was supposed to graduate on the 28th, but it is what it is. I’m sorry. I didn’t get to save them. I’m so sorry. If I was there, I could have saved them.”
- According to a Broward County Police report, the boys were found at the bottom of the pool around 9:30 p.m. at the pool of the Silver Palms Condominiums.
