Chance the Rapper announced his decision to postpone his tour on Instagram after his wife, Kirsten Corley, gave birth to a baby girl last week.
What We Know:
- Fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see his new “The Big Day” tour. Chance made the announcement five days before the tour was scheduled to kick off.
- The rapper posted a photo with his two daughters Kensli and Marley and an explanation for his decision. He captioned the post, “I thought it over for the past week and I’ve decided to push back my tour. This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc.” He continued, “But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work. When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again.”
- “The Big Day” tour will now begin on January 15 in San Diego.
- The rapper will still perform in Las Vegas on Sept. 20 and Sept. 21 at the Life is Beautiful Festival and the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Sept. 28 at the United Center in Chicago, and on Nov. 10 at the Miami Beach Pop Festival.
Props to Chance for putting his family first.
