Kanye West Purchases ‘Monster Lake Ranch’ for $14 Million in Wyoming

Kanye West purchased a 9,000-acre ranch located outside Cody, Wyoming.

What We Know:

  • Monster Lake Ranch, with a selling price of $14 million, includes two freshwater lakes, a restaurant, event and meeting facilities, and is known for its “monster trout” fishing. It also has horse barns, corrals, and horses. Cody is known as the “rodeo capital of the world.”
  • West has spent time in Wyoming before as he recorded his 2018 album ‘Ye’ there and also hosted a listening party in the rural state.
  • On September 2 in an interview with Vogue Arabia Kim Kardashian, West’s wife, was asked where she sees herself in ten years in which she responded: “I see us living on a ranch in Wyoming, occasionally going to Palm Springs and our home in Los Angeles—and becoming a lawyer.”
  • Kanye also stated in a 2018 interview with radio personality Charlamagne tha God, “I’m going to build five properties, so it’s my first community, I’m getting into development…It’s just the next frontier for me, to develop. We’re standing on my first property. So I’m going to be one of the biggest real-estate developers of all time—what Howard Hughes was to air crafts and what Henry Ford was to cars. Just the relationships I have with architects, my understanding of space and sacred proportions, just this new vibe, this new energy…We gonna develop cities.”
  • It is believed that West owns 4,500 acres while the rest is leased to the federal government. Rapper Pusha T may have also joined West as he posted an Instagram photo with the location tagged in Cody, Wyoming on September 6.

With West and his family always in public eye it is interesting to see what the rap star/producer will do next.
