Netflix is possibly changing the binge-watching culture that it’s notable for.
What We Know:
- Changing what they are known for, Netflix is now planning on releasing the season of The Great British Baking Show and Rhythm & Flow through week by week releases.
- According to ComicBook, what drove Netflix to do this is that “this time around, Netflix really wants to keep the suspense of eliminations alive.“
- The release dates of the episodes were revealed. “On October 9th, the first four episodes of the series will be released, those all make up the audition portion of the series. One week later, on October 16th, episodes 5-7 will be released. The series wraps up on October 23rd, when Netflix will release episodes 8-10.”
- Netflix has referenced that they already use this method elsewhere while still being special due to the fact that they cater to their users. In the UK, they release the episode week by week while in the US they release the season all at once.
the weekly release of licensed titles (like Great British Baking Show) isn't new and in hopes of keeping Rhythm + Flow's winner a surprise, we're trying something new! but not happening with more new shows than that
