A Belknap County Grand Jury indicted Patrick Chung (32), of the New England Patriots on possession of cocaine on Aug. 8.
What We Know:
- Police in Meredith, New Hampshire were called to the residence of Patrick Chung on June 25, “on a call for service” and substantial evidence was obtained which led to the felony drug charge. This charge carries a sentence of 3 to 7 years in prison.
- Patrick Chung is the only individual involved and this is the only charge Chung is facing.

- Under the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, players convicted of or who admit to a violation of the law are subject to discipline by the commissioner. First-time offenders can be suspended up to four games. Per the league’s personal-conduct policy, illegal possession of drugs can result in discipline even if the violator isn’t convicted.
- Patrick Chung is a Jamaican-born American strong safety for the New England Patriots. He attended college at the University of Oregon. Chung has been apart of three Super-Bowl Winning teams with the Patriots, including last year.
- This is Chung’s 11th year in the league, he has been with the Patriots all but one of the seasons. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013.
Chung has been participating in training camp and is expected to start. He is scheduled to appear in court on November. 8.
