Richard Guinn (33) of Fernandina Beach, Florida has been arrested after being accused of calling for the deaths of all black police officers and offering $100 billion in a collection of emails.
What We Know:
- Initially, Guinn was under arrest due to a violation of injunction (legal warning). The authorities were later informed about emails in which Guinn specifically targeted local military bases and individual police officers across several jurisdictions in Nassau County.
- In one of the emails, he stated: “I’d pay 100 billion for the deaths of every black police officer…all the bases and people that live on them need to be executed.” These emails were sent over a span of several years to the CEO of IberiaBank, Daryl G. Byrd.
- Police arrested Guinn at the home of one of his relatives. A 2013 order forbade him from even being within 500 feet of that house.
- Last April, Guinn had been under custody for breaking a protection order, resisting arrest, domestic battery by strangulation, and aggregated assault, according to Newsweek.
- In 2015, he committed multiple misdemeanors including resisting arrest and battery. He also has committed multiple felonies throughout the past couple of years including stalking, violating probation, and violating parole according to the Nassau County Inmate Inquiry.
Guinn is charged with written threat to kill among multiple other offenses. He is held on a $110,000 bond at Nassau County Jail.
