Ciara & Russell Wilson announce partial ownership of Seattle sounders FC Team

The singer and football star have joined the Seattle Sounders FC ownership group.

What We Know:

  • The soccer club announced the beginning of a “new era in its storied 45-year history, as the organization unveiled 11 new families that are joining the club’s Ownership Group.”
  • Russell Wilson told Q13 News earlier this summer, “I think after I’m done playing there’s a lot that I want to do. Obviously, I want to own teams.” He continued, “You know, own potentially a basketball team, a soccer team, a football team, a baseball team, those types of things. I love sports, I love organizations, I love culture. I love being around people. I love success, I love winning. I love being around it. And those are always great experiences for me, so I want to be able to impact people’s lives that way and fans and everything else.”
  • Wilson got his wish by investing in this Major League Soccer team with his wife. He expressed his excitement on Twitter with a picture of his family dressed in Sounders jerseys and captioned it, “Football. Fútbol. We Love them both! @ciara and I are fired up to announce we are Team Owners of the Seattle @SoundersFC one of the best soccer franchises in the world! We can’t wait for our kids to grow up loving Soccer! Family is everything! #SoundersIsFamily.”

  • Rapper Macklemore and his wife, Tricia Davis, also joined the Sounders family.

Congrats to Ciara and Russell on this new business venture!
