John Oliver confirmed that Beyoncé was in fact edited into the cast photograph.
What We Know:
- Oliver, host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight and voice of Zazu in the remake The Lion King, confirmed the theory on Stephan Colbert’s late night show on Friday.
- “Yeah, she wasn’t there,” he told Colbert. “If you look at my face, I look really intimidated,” he continued. “And that’s because what I’m doing is imagining that I’m about to be put into a photo with Beyoncé.”
- It was reported that Oliver is a huge fan of the music mogul. Oliver said to Seth Meyers on “Late Night” that he would drop to his knees if he ever met Beyoncé in person.
- Despite sharing the big screen with her, Oliver said he felt he wouldn’t be allowed to meet her. “Especially after this interview,” he told Meyers. “This feels like something her security team should be made aware of in some way. ‘He seems a little highly strung when her name comes up.’”
Beyonce is the voice of the grown-up Nala in the movie, which made $192 million during opening weekend — the eighth biggest North American launch ever.
