The final trailer for It: Chapter 2 was released Thursday and was, quite frankly, terrifying.
What We Know:
- It had one of the biggest openings for a horror film in modern box office history by bringing in a record-breaking $117.2 million in America during its first few days, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The sequel to the 2017 adaptation of Stephen King’s It is gearing up to be released and the trailer has everyone buzzing.
- The clip shows the grown-up Losers Club preparing to battle evil Pennywise, who ominously says, “for 27 years, I dreamed of you. I craved you. I missed you.” This trailer follows a teaser trailer that was released in May. The final trailer premiered July 17 at San Diego Comic-Con before its online debut and featured a lot of blood.
- Director Andy Muschietti confirmed that filming had been completed. “It’s a wrap!” he wrote on Instagram last October.
- James McAvoy, Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Andy Bean are the adult versions of the kids seen in the first It film. Of course, Bill Skarsgård will play the terrifying clown.
- Mustafa, who plays the adult version of Mike Hanlon, calls the film emotion-filled. “[The film is] still about that friendship those kids in chapter one developed and how they really became each other’s best friends to fight this evil,” he told CNET.
It: Chapter 2 is set to be released on September 6.
