- Omar addressed the crowd “We are going to continue to be a nightmare to this president,” she said in her speech to the crowd, “because his policies are a nightmare to us and we are not deterred, we are not frightened.”
- Her welcome home came after weeks of repeated attacks from Trump, against her and three other democrats. More recently, after supporters at President Trump’s Wednesday night campaign rally in North Carolina chanted “send her back” about Omar, who came to the U.S. as a Somali refugee as a child.
It was the first time Omar had been back in her own state since Trump‘s feud with her and the other woman in ”The Squad.” On Friday, Trump claimed her welcome home was staged.
