After a small fire broke out, a Virgin Atlantic flight made an emergency landing in Boston.

- On Thursday, a Virgin Atlantic flight was on its way to London from New York City when a fire broke out in first class. Passengers said they smelled smoke not even 30 minutes after the plan departed from JFK. The flight crew announced that the plane would be making an emergency landing in Boston’s Logan International Airport.
- The aircraft was carrying 217 passengers, who were all evacuated safely. Cory Tanner, 28, a passenger on the plane said a flight attendant told him a TV unit caught fire in first class. But, the Massachusetts State Police said a passenger’s seat had an electrical malfunction. When Virgin Atlantic was asked about the incident, they didn’t provide any details about the cause of the fire.
- When asked, the airline said,” Our cabin crew are trained to a high standard and acted quickly to deal with this situation.” Firefighters inspected the fire before passengers were deplaned and the situation was under control. Tanner said the aircraft was “oddly calm,” and that “there was no big commotion.”
Everyone was evacuated safely and they are currently waiting for a replacement flight.
