Video Shows D.C Cop Using Taser On Unarmed Black Man On Subway Platform

A police officer in Washington D.C was shown using his taser on an unarmed black man who didn’t pose any threat to him.

What We Know:

  • On Saturday, the unidentified male was seen questioning an officer about a young, black male who was handcuffed in the St. Metro Station in Northwest Washington.
  • Moments later, another officer began shoving the concerned bystander which led to the officer using a taser on him.
  • The woman who filmed the video wanted to make sure the handcuffed gentleman was ok. She reported talking to some of the suspect’s friends who were accused of “threatening riders on the platform with sticks.”
  • Metro spokesman Ron Holzer said, “The officer stated that the subject took an aggressive stance with a balled fist and began to approach him appearing to be readying for a fight, the officer pulled out his taser causing him to defend himself.” The video below did not show anything the officer stated.

The tasered bystander was arrested and hauled to jail on “obstruction of justice” charges.
