A New Jersey woman is sentenced for outing herself as a cooperator with ISIS, again.
What We Know:
- Sinmyah Amera Ceasar, 24, has already served 28 months total in prison and is facing more time. The Eastern District of New York Judge sentenced Ceasar to 48 months in prison on Wednesday June 26th.
- “On Monday, Officials revealed they cut Ceasar a deal on her first prison term for assisting ISIS. She was assigned to help the feds fight the terror group. Instead she outed herself as a cooperator and resuming her ISIS rhetoric with potential recruits online,” According to NYPost.
- Many red flags were raised for investigators when Ceasar posted defiant messages on social media that violated the conditions of her plea deal.
- Ceasar expressed her desires to travel to ISIS-controlled territory and join the group and die as a martyr.
- “She told investigators that she associates her use of the given name “Umm Nutella” with her support to ISIS, and that if she used the name it would signify her continued support for the group,” according to NBCNews. She referred to herself as “Umm Nutella” when recruiting others for ISIS. The was a marketing tactic for ISIS members to appeal to children.
Ceasar pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in March.
