Anita Hill might vote for Joe Biden if he becomes 2020 nominee

Lawyer and professor Anita Hill in an NBC News interview Thursday stated that she could vote for Joe Biden if he gets the Democratic nomination.

What We Know:

  • Hill and Biden definitely have a complicated history — Biden famously oversaw the 1991 Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings (which were all-male) for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, where she testified that she had been sexually harassed by Thomas.
  • Biden did not allow other women to testify on her behalf during the hearing and asked her to “tell the committee what was the most embarrassing of all the incidents you have alleged.”
  • In the end, Thomas was confirmed for the position and she had to watch as this man gained this prestigious position.
  • However, in the interview Thursday she did say that “of course” she could see herself voting for Biden despite their past.
  • Since then, Biden has apologized for his actions during these hearings and reached out to offer his apologies — but Hill was unsatisfied with the conversation.
  •  In an interview with the New York Times about the conversation, she stated “I cannot be satisfied by simply saying, ‘I’m sorry for what happened to you’… I will be satisfied when I know that there is real change and real accountability and real purpose.”

Stand your ground sis!
